I am Priyanka Ashley Komal. I graduated from Queens Collegiate in Jamaica Highschool. I got my name from my grandfather that died after a year or two after I was born. My name was a debate with my grandmother whether I would be a girl or a boy. My grandmother died recently in July, but I was incredibly grateful for her because she was a very friendly and opened whenever I wanted to talk about something that would bother me.
My cousin was my support system we did everything together. We were inseparable. Now that where going to different colleges, we have our own paths and things to accomplish. My major is Architecture and Structural Design. I chose this major based on my hobby of drawing. Over the summer I started to do graphic design and decided to take a bigger step and try Structure Design.
Some hobbies I have are drawing, playing volleyball, and cooking/baking. I enjoy drawing because its relaxing helps me clear my mind while being creative. Because in high school I played volleyball, I love spending time outside practicing and trying to improve my skills, and it is also a good form of exercise. My favorite place to spend all my time would be in the kitchen some people may say the aftermath is not worth it or in other words the dishes and cleaning up but that is something I do not mind. Cooking is also another form of art. Over the pandemic I learned by being in isolation it helps people learn things about themself. Furthermore, they can explore more things and learn what they like and do not like and their preferences. But one thing I can say is music and the key to everything whether it is for a distraction or a source of focus.
Hey Priyanka, I can relate when you say that your cousin was your support system. Family means everything to me as well. Back in high school I also played volleyball and drawing is something that I do too.- Dessire
I totally agree to music being the key to everything. Music can help in so many ways to express yourself and to lift up your mood. There is a big variety of music to adjust to people tastes and mood during the time. Also, I feel like the pandemic was a way for people to figure out how they are alone and not with people around them. I figured out new hobbies I liked to do and how to be more independent. Even though I did find it annoying at times because you can only stay inside for so long before getting bored.
Good Intro!
