This week is Banned Books Week, an annual celebration of reading books that have been challenged across the country. Check out the library’s banned books display near the front entrance. These books have covers that hide the title and authors, labeled only with reasons why they are banned. This display demonstrates the dangers of censorship and libraries’ support of the freedom of ideas.
For more information about Banned Books week, visit the American Libraries Association Banned Books week website. There, you can see view a list of last year’s banned books.
Special thanks to College Office Assistant Araceli DeSosa for processing the books in the display.
