Radiation, from sources such as x-rays, nuclear weapons, and accidental nuclear power plant explosions, can affect a developing fetus and the sex cells of individuals. These can lead to not only physical implications, but oral ones as well. Oral implications include cleft palate, under developed jaw, and a cleft lip without a cleft palate.
