The life of Monae Clark

Growing up and even now I never really had it easy. Being raised in a low income community I had and still have to work extra hard for what I want in life. Fortunately I was accepted into a high achieving middle school called, ” Brownsville collegiate Charter” and four years later I was at ” Uncommon collegiate charter”. Being at these high achieving schools paved the way for my academic achieves and so much more. Before coming into my middle school at 5th grade I was at a public school where my education wasnt really valued. I came into my middle school unable to read and timid but my middle school worked with me and helped with my reading skills as well as breaking me out of a timid personality. Fasting forward to my high school days i have many academic achieves by taking AP classes such as AP U.S. History, AP Goverment History, AP Seminar and AP Research. A take away from taking some many AP classes would be being academicly prepared for the work in class as well as passing my AP seminar class and getting college credit. In my college career now I hope to pass all my classes and use my my knowledge from my Food Sanitation and Safety class to help me get my food safety license.
Throughout the past years I have had many jobs such as working at a housing delevopment office, a daycare, the Marriot hotel (intership), a hair salon, Target, a family restaurant and now currently working at chipotle. Working at the Marriot reaelly did shape my career goals a lot because it made me realize I want to get into the hospitality field. I currently do working at chipotle because of the great hospitality we display and knowing im helping others and making their day means a lot. However I am not too sure on exactly what my career goal is but I do know I want to working in the hotel envirnoment if not then a restaurant.
Going into my personal strengths as an indivual I am very determined, I am a fast learner, I am a leader and I make sure everything I do is my best. My strengths will help me in the professional world because working with people you will need those strengths.
