ADJECTIVE – dealing with things sensibly and realistically in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations
Pragmatic | Definition of Pragmatic by Merriam-Webster
I have encountered this word from “BAD IDEAS ABOUT WRITING” by Cherlyn E. Ball & Drew M. Loewe ( page 10)
Quote – Aristotle, unlike many other philosophers, doesnāt present rhetoric as an inferior discipline to philosophy (he says itās a ācounterpartā). Itās just different. Itās a pragmatic skill that helps us in decision-making.
The quote refers to Aristotle’s unique approach to rhetoric in comparison to other philosophers. In such a way that he provides things in a reasonable and realistic manner that it aids us in making decisions.
