Hello! My name is Guadalupe , I’m 18 years old and I am a first year student at City Tech majoring in hospitality management. I wouldn’t say that I’m one of the best students there could ever be. I have always struggled experiencing new chapters of my life especially when I’m in an environment where I don’t know anyone and everything is basically new to me. But my mindset has always been that I have to be able to overcome these obstacles as they are being presented in order to be successful. One thing that I sometimes find myself stressed about is having good grades especially when it comes to getting participation points because I would consider myself as a very timid person. In most cases I would rather take my time to evaluate and analyze my classmates’ opinions. In which I guess you can say that I’m a better listener. In addition I have always pushed myself to communicate with others without feeling super overwhelmed or feeling as if my answers may be wrong . I’m always willing to try new techniques to help me improve either as a student or a person in general to help be more successful with my goals. The reason why I chose this career is because I believe that there are many different alternative paths that can be explored throughout this journey. As of right now I want to become a general hotel manager but I also wouldn’t mind becoming a flight attendant because it would be interesting to learn and explore what each country has to offer and evaluate it’s many different aspects. I’m willing to put in all my effort to be successful in this journey. I know it would take some time and that it would be difficult but I know that it would be all worth it.
