Mentor Text: https://tonetags.carrd.co

My mentor text is on tone tags. On the left side of the screen we see a title, explanation, master-list, and information on tone tags. On the right side of the screen we are given a bunch of tabs to explore. The first tab is called “introduction” which has questions using a couple of the 5 W’s like: what, where, when, and why. In this tab we are given a link of a dictionary definition from the Urban Dictionary and a link to a New York Times article covering tone tag related things and discourse surrounding them. The next page is “some things to keep in mind.” If you are Neurotypical it’s kindly appreciated that you (general aspect not literally meaning “you”!) don’t mock the use of tone tags because Neurodivergent individuals need them to understand tone through text. This is one instance I put in my analysis because there are a lot of things in this tab that you can read on your own time. Third tab is the “all the tone tags I’m aware of and their meanings.” Pretty self explanatory, we are given a list. Some examples and their meanings, “/j = joking, /hj = half joking, /s or /sarc = sarcastic / sarcasm, /srs = serious, /nsrs = not serious…” On the bottom of the tab someone and not the person who created the Carrd has translated tone tags in other languages to reach a broader audience to understand the use and importance of them. Overall, this Carrd is really helpful and good to understand tone especially to someone that is Neurodiverse who needs them because not all Neurodiverse people are the same.
