Two or three possible issues that I would like to research is , obesity within the unites states, crime rate within the city of New York and abuse within the foster care system. I believe obesity within the untied states is at an all time high.  statistics say about 73% of U.S. adults are overweight or obese. in my opinion that’s a very high percentage. so why are people so over sized? I blame fast food cooperation. did you know that it is cheaper to buy a burger at  McDonald rather than a nourishing  meal at a heathy restaurant. Fast food cooperation’s continue to grow as Americans weight size continue to increase as well.  There’s two things killing the people of New York at the moment, covid  and Violence . since the pandemic started crime rate have seem to surge. some may say its due to stress others may say that its due to high usage of illegal fire arms. Although gun laws are restrictive within the state, people still manage to get their hands on plenty of them. another answer is gangs. gangs through out the entire city. gangs are leaving a trail of violence throughout the entire city, un-fazed  by who gets hurt. I believe this to be a very sad and unfortunate situation. The finale issue that I would like to research is sex abuse and the foster care system. I take this issue much more seriously than the others. I find it deeply unfortunate due to the fact that  those children are already coming from a troubled home and to then be faced with more hardships and abuse is a very dis heartful situation.  Study shows that children in foster care are four times more likely to be abused. it is also determined that one- third of foster children reported abuse by a foster parent or by another adult within the home.  The foster care system also  plays a major role in the growing epidemic of reported institutional of sexual abuse within the growing epidemic of minors. I believe  that these situations within the foster care system should be investigated even further. these young children need help and assurance that have someone that is supportive of them on their side. This epidemic needs to end immediately. There’s plenty of issues/problems that the world is being faced with, some even in our back yards. I believe these 3 issues are most beneficial to me and would like to dig deeper into what’s happening currently with these issues and the leading reasons as to why it may be happening.
