14058415466_bc0d358184_bI think this picture uses perspective and shallow depth of field.  Depth of feild is the distance between the nearest and farthest points that appear in acceptably sharp focus in a photograph. It can be either shallow or extensive. The steps were to first set the camera to Av , setting the camera to the widest aperture and making the shutter speed is not slower than 1/60.  Perspective is shown because theres a point in which the lines meet i n the composition.

Example of shallow depth of field

_MG_9163This is a good example of shallow depth of field because of how sharp the black gates is but the background where all the buildings are and the park is out of focus. The black and grey gives it a depressing look but the bright skies shows thats it’s an early day.

The way I got this picture was by putting the ISO at its highest which was 1600 on my camera and the shutter speed to the fastest which was 4.0 on mines. I made sure I stood at least half a foot away so it can focus on the gate and not the back ground.

I say this is the best example of perspective because it shows how it looked from the eyes of the photographer. Perspective is the visual perspective in which objects appear to the human eye but instead from the cameras POV.

Perspective and Shallow Depth of Field

14101413343_a0421c6402_b

I found this photo by one of my classmates to be very amazing and interesting. This photo has both shallow depth of field and perspective. Depth of Field is the distance between the nearest and farthest points that appear in acceptably sharp focus in a photograph. The closer part of the bench is very clear and you can see the writing on the bench very clearly. The writing shows the depth of field in this photo and the farther back the bench is, the more blurry it is. This is also the same for the writing on the bench. While is it a good example of depth of field, it is also a good example of perspective. Perspective is when the photo or object gives the right impression of height, width, depth and position in relation from the viewer’s point. When I take a look at this photo, it feels like I’m looking down the an alley way or that I’m there kneeling down looking down the bench myself because the bench is in a such a position that it gives the feeling of depth and width.

Depth of field, Prespective

Depth and prespective

Perspective is when the all the lines and objects appear to shrink as they go towards the vantage point.

Depth of fiel

Depth of field is the area where the focal point is the sharpest and with most definition. To take this photo, i put the camera on the floor and took the image of the crack on the basketball court

Depth of Field & Perspective

1. Shallow Depth of Field-

IMG_0905

Depth of field controls what is clear and unclear in a photo. Shallow depth of field is when the object closest to you in the photo is in focus and the objects further back, surrounding it are out of focus. To get this photo, I focused on the edge of the handle & the droplets closest to me so that the rest of the structure was out of focus. This created an interesting overall image because your eye is drawn to this object that you wouldn’t normally pay attention to.

2. Perspective-

IMG_0936

Perspective allows us to see things smaller the further away they are or bigger the closer to us they are. This gives us an idea of size, depth & space. When taking this photo, I got down so that the bench was almost at eye level and took it so that you would have the idea that the bench is long and you can imagine how far the other end of it is from where the camera was.

DOF Perspective

IMG_2261 IMG_2268

I got the first photo by finding the object but also looking for an angle to make the image a lot more interesting image. and it just so happens the drops have reflection of the background which gives another perspective.

The second picture i first took it with color, but then i realize that when i tried to do in black and white made it look a lot better and have a different perspective instead of color. The blur in the background also give the balance for the entire composition.

Perspective is when the photographer decides to change the perspective as “photographer” into something totally different and allow the image to have its own story.

Perspective

IMG_8860

I took this photo by going close to the ground and face the camera towards the plants. Perspective is one’s own point of view, seeing an object big up close but tiny farther.

Trip to the park (perspective)

IMG_7644_1

In this picture it shows perspective because there is converging lines. At the same time it also shows shallow depth of field. Perspective is when you take a picture of an object that has the same length, from front to back, but you make it look further than it should be. You distort the image in a way.

Shallow Depth of Field

I took this photo by focusing on the plant more than the background. Depth of Field is the distance between close and far points from the camera in the photograph.

Trip to the park

i really like this picture because it shows a shallow depth of field. i zoomed into the plant and focused on it. everything in the background became a blur, but it was really soft.
