Shallow DOF/Perspective

IMG_5540

Depth of field its the blur which comes from distance. It is controlled by the focal length and the distance to the target.

I achieved this look with an f-stop of 5.6, a shutter speed of 1/50 and an iso of 200.

Perspective is the relationship of objects in a photograph. The perspective here shows the objects appearing to get smaller over time.

13447264405_f92900e3ee_oI personally love this picture because my partners moving quickly. The camera captured his movement so precise that he looks like a ghost and having the other subjects surrounding  him , showing through his figure.

This was one of our first shots taken after realizing that if you move the light too fast, with the wrong exposure, you don’t see much in the photo so we slowed down and set it to 10 seconds. I really like how the painting with light in this photo came out. We used three different people with three different lights to get this image and we didn’t really have a plan for how it would come out but I find the vivid colors in the end result to be really interesting.

Light Painting

I like this one because I have some sort energy developing in one hand as if I was in some fantasy world fighting against an enemy. How it was done was I stood there with one hand up while Josh and Franklin swirled lights into my hand.

This image is my personal favorite because it shows a high contrast between the model and the background. The light is almost a perfect line, and it also breaks up so we don’t see a straight line. The model expression is also genuine so we get a sense of direction.

13759890985_82294ccfe7_bI personally like this picture of me because it  portrays the idea my group had in mind. The idea we had is to show a new idea or becoming enlightened. The idea of the bubble is well known seen in mostly cartoons we fused both together to make it looks realistic and surreal at the same time.

Light Painting

13759890545_a233d2bc1a_zWe had to increase the time on the exposure for us to get this shot, I also had to block the light with my hand in order to have each letter somewhat separated from each other, it took us 3 tries to get this down and this was my try at the idea. I had a lot of fun with this assignment.

I personally love this shot. My facial expression looks like I’m focusing on channeling my inner energy and the blue lights shows the energy around my body. My hoodie also matches with the lights which makes it fit perfectly. I also like how only half of my body is shown and it makes it more dramatic.

Freezing Motion

13603455034_c177a652e7_o

I like this picture of freezing motion because of how the shot of the pencil was taken at the exact time the pencil came down horizontally. The pencil was thrown up in the air and while it was coming back down the pencil was still in motion which made it hard to capture the pencil horizontally. In this shot the pencil also seems parallel to the person’s hand.
