The daguerreotype pictures are much harder to make and require a lot more effort than any digital photograph. The daguerreotype pictures are really small and no really used for framing. Digital photographs can be enlarged and show a lot more detail than a daguerreotype. When taking a daguerreotype picture the subject has to stay still for 20-30 seconds in order for the picture to come out properly. If the subject moves ,the picture would probably look blurry. When a digital photograph is taken, the cameras can capture the image very quickly with a lot of detail.

When viewing a daguerreotype, the person viewing it has to look at it in a certain angle to see all the details in the picture. The picture is also very small to see the specific details. In a digital photograph the picture can clearly be seen from many different angles and is less trouble for the person view the photograph. The daguerreotypes are also framed/contained in something. This is done to probably protect the daguerreotype and to also make it look nicer. The daguerreotypes uses chemicals to produce the image which make the process a little more complicated and today chemicals are used very rarely to make a picture.
