Daguerreotype

The Daguerreotype really was the founding invention that shaped the path of Modern photography. Many main components of the daguerreotype are found in todays cameras, just with modern technology. Such as the metal plate that due to exposure the image is captured on, its much like an image sensor in digital cameras. In both cameras you can have full control over the exposure.

Daguerreotypes have a better experience as to the physical appeal you can hold it end cherish it a bit more due to the general size of it, fitting in your palm. This way of taking a portrait has its good and bad one good being that it last for generations and won’t deteriorate  without a fight. One of the bads being that you can’t view it at certain angles and for some the size makes you appreciate it much less. The substance used to develop it might not be the best to deal with from day to day photography.  The tedious preparation of the plate as well as how long it takes to to actually capture the image are probably reasons why it is obsolete. Daguerreotypes has come a long way with out losing much of its inner workings but it has led the way for our modern photography.
