36 hours on Brooklyn Waterfront- Jiajie Tan

Brooklyn is one of the borough of New York City. It owns a rich history and bunch of entertainments around there. It doesn’t matter which season you go, here still can offer you a perfect trip. Most of time, I would like to go in summer and fall, because these two seasons make me feel comfortable and have more entertainments.

Friday:

1, Enjoy the sunrise. 8 Amdownload

 

First,We will drive ourselves or take B6 bus and arrive at the destination called “Belt parkway”(a place which locates beside the sea and there are some stores which sell material goods).

Then,we people could according to their own habits to do something they like .For example,you could go into “BestBuy” if you have  interesting in electric,also you could go to “Modells” to shop some sport goods. Kohl’s is a mall that contains a lot of living goods. We could buy a little pizza and a coffee, then sit on the bench to appreciate the sunrise while we are fishing.

Then we will take the bus back to 86 street 18 avenue and walk down to 13 avenue. The “Outback” steak house is right there waiting for us. The “Bloomin Onion” is one of my favorite appetizers, this onion is in deep fire and its shape is like a flower when it’s in front of you. This onion costs you about $8.49, but I feel it worth anyway. If you like, you could get a cocktail, beer, milkshakes and soft drinks. The purpose we come here is for the steak. The one that I feel cheap and delicious is called “Parmesan-Herb Crusted Chicken” and it cost you only 15.99 dollars. Stay inside and enjoy the food would make you feel happy because this hot weather.

3, Go into another China Town in Brooklyn. 3pm

8 AV is another China Town in Brooklyn. Here always are crowded day or night because a bunch shops open till mid night. As we known, all things made in China are cheap, so don’t save your money for our pocket this time, just buy and buy. Also, if you are interested in cooking, here will be a treasure for you because all seafood markets and meat markets locate between 59 street and 53 street.  In an addition, there have three large super market locate between 60 street and 61 street. So, how can we miss that.

4, Have fun at night,   6pm

As we see, the temperature have been down to 70 degrees, so is time to go out at night. “100 Fun” is a Karla okay where contains limited room for you to relax and it locates at 59th street 9 avenue. For the reminder, in the night time, below 21 years old are not allowed. You could order any food and drinks, even water. If you drive, hope you do not drink any alcohol, because you will get caught, there a bunch of polices hide around. Also, be good to yourself and others.

5, Try the Food Truck. 10 pm

I know you are tired and hungry after you sang . So, we could go down to 60th street 8 avenue, there has a barbecue food truck called “369”. You won’t lose when you walk around here, because the smell you bring you to the subway stations and the food truck is next to it. You better try their barbecue whole squid, juicy and crispy. I don’t think one portion can satisfy you, and I know you will buy more than one. They also have barbecue pan cake, all kind of meat.

6, Dessert time. 11 pm

Dessert is necessary after dinner. “Kulu”  dessert is a good choice to visit. I always buy a tea is mixed by red bean, yam and milk. Then, I would like to buy a crepe and it has choice for you; you could choose turkey, ham, beef or shrimp with thousand island sauce or Caesar. A warm drink would give you a good sleep.

Saturday

7, Walk through the Brooklyn Bridge 12 am

Brooklyn Bridge is a bridge which connects Brooklyn and Manhattan and it becomes the icon of the New York City. It was opened for use in May 24, 1883 till now, and the renovation on and off. Although the renovation sometimes bothers the people, but that can’t stop people visit the bridge. When you walk by the bridge, you could see the view of Brooklyn and Manhattan and you also can see the status of liberty. Breathe a fresh air and scream out loud, to be proud of a New Yorker.

8, Junior’s Restaurant. 2 pm

Take R train to DeKalb and down to Flatbush Avenue, and we will see the Junior’s restaurant in front of us. Its cheese cake is just its advertisement “fabulous”. For me, it is an icon of the restaurant. The cheese cake is a priority, you must order and try. The one I like is called Devil food cheesecake which contains a lot of chocolate. However, you better come with your friend, because they only serve the cheese cake in a large size which means it could serve 6 to 8 people, even more. Its cheese cake 29.95 dollars up to 50 dollars. For the reminder, here is not only serve cheese cake, it also offers the regular food.

9, Take a City bike. 5 pm

In downtown Brooklyn, get a city bike is more convenience that take the subway and bus.  Now, it is time to appreciate the sunset and the perfect place is Brooklyn Bridge Park. We will see there have 5 piers there and the construction is still on, but it won’t bother us. In an addition, there has an ice cream factory and we could buy some for the time we enjoy the sunset. Sometimes, here will have some event, such as smorgasbord, unfortunately, it was just passed by 2 months. Also, you could go around the park and see how amazing it is. There owns a lot of facilities, you could run, watch the kids play basketball game, football game and soccer game. If you are interested in, you could be a part of them. Most of time, I would like to sit on the bench and watch the sun down to the west and feel its warmth.

10, Lay down on the lawn.  9pm

Here is such a star observation platform. When you lay down on the lawn, you will be relaxed and you could observe the stars, moon and the airplanes. Maybe, you will feel boring, but you should try and see how it is going.  To be a part of nature is a good way to release.

11, Hotel time. 11pm

Marriott Hotel is located at 333 Adam Street Brooklyn and it is pretty near Brooklyn Bridge, so it is very convenience for our trip. Here has a lot of choice for you to choose you room, one king room, executive room, double room, concierge room…etc. For the dining room, we need to move to Metro Tech room because the renovation. In fact, we only care about the taste of the food after we traveled whole day. Also, it contain gym and spar, so you could sweat yourself then have a massage. I could not imagine what your facial expressions are. After we try all the facilities and entertainments, it is time to go to our super soft mattress.

volunteer in Brooklyn waterfronts

We always go to waterfront because we love the ocean because it offers a lot of entertainments and facilities.Brooklyn waterfront is a large brand new park which contains five piers.Everything has two sides, the environment is concerned when we’re enjoying the life. The beautiful environment can attract people to come here and the good service makes people love to come here. In fact, a few organizations are helping the visitors to explore the park. Although they have a good deed in the inside service,but that is not enough. The outside service is very important too,such as helping the visitors to park their cars. Actually, the park is close to Manhattan,so it won’t have enough parking lots for the people.This volunteer action is the one of the way that attracts people to come here..

America is a country which encourage people to use the cars and it uses to own plenty parking areas.Manhattan is one of the boroughs the New York City and it is crowed. So, the residents live here have the parking lots,but it will not be enough if the visitors come. In fact, they will not park a car for a day,so we will look for the parking lots for the visitors. I will find some friends stand on the streets these near by the Brooklyn bridge park and keep contact anytime. Actually,people come to the park is for relaxing and enjoying the view. I don’t think they want to spend a hour to park their cars, so I would like to take this responsibility to help them.

Waterfront is our favorite place that we want to go in the vocation. Sometime,we will run along with the waterfront or ride the bicycle. This kind of exercises are popular in the Brooklyn water front and I would like to bring a first aid all the time for the runners and visitors. To lead the travelers walk around is necessary because a good experience will make them come back in the feature. In a addition, I would like to lead them to the ice cream factory and the coffee factory because no one will refuse have the delicious food. As usual,cleaning is a daily job and we have the employees to do that.So my job is to convince the people do not throw the garbage. The education is more important than just pick up the trash they throw.

Volunteer is a stupid job in some people’s eyes,but in the Hospitality industries is very important. To gain the work experience early is more helpful for us. We need to face a thousands of different situations when we are working. More experience means more solutions we have,so we can handle it well. A lot of like to go to the waterfront because its wonderful environment.I would try to offer my best to volunteer others,not only for them, also myself.

Nice to meet you in this course and this is my first years of collage. I came here to America for about four years. In these recent years, I had been very confused and lost about the future because I felt that everything was messed up until my high school teacher asked me what my dream was. To be a chef, be a man that can bring happiness to the people by food. The hospitality management is useful and it offers all the skills for challenging the society.

Before i came to America, my dad was my instructor, leading me through this cooking pathway, always letting me cook because everything comes from practice. He tried to send me to other restaurants and hoped I can learn more from them. The first chef that I had met was Master Lin; he never let me cook and just gave me some trivia. I often felt unhappy about it and even wanted to leave until he said something in front of me. He said “the reason that I don’t want you to cook is because I want you to learn everything about the kitchen first”. A chef is not only cooking, he should be omnipotent. It’s a modern society here, you can find cooking methods on the internet and there will be an opportunity to get more experiences. Fortunately, I found this course and believes that it can really help me because it is an academic education. This course attracts me most because it will teach me how to manger a business.     I like cooking, but I am more interested in how to own a restaurant. I believe these four years in college can strengthen our foundation and develop our relation network. We don’t know what will happen in the future, but we should work hard now because all that you’ve had prepared is for tomorrow.
