  • Drawing Assignment – 3 Views of Desk:
    • From your sketches in class, and the dimensions given, complete these drawings at the scale of: 3/4β€³=1β€²-0β€³.
    • See SLIDES from class for more information.
    • All drawings shall be done on 11Γ—17 paper with title block + graphic scale as demonstrated in class. See slides for samples.
    • Bring your Desk Drawing to class
  • Complete all previous assignments. Look in today’s and previous Class Agendas for more information.
  • BRING YOUR SKETCHBOOK AND YOUR DRAWING TOOLS TO CLASS
    • Bring your architectural scale; triangle; mechanical pencil or lead pointer; 11×17 paper; drafting dots or tape;

  • Review use of the Architectural Scale
  • Continue architectural drawings – Plan + Elevation
  • Introduce Section views + their value in architectural drawing
  • Develop list of architectural terminology we’ve seen so far this semester

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of various scales in architectural drawing

  • Practice use of architectural scale
    • Draw Graphic Scale at 1/4″=1′-0″ on 11Γ—17 sheet for Project 1
  • BEGIN PROJECT 1: Small Building
    • Sketch small building elevations – Front and Side
    • Add dimensions provided by professor + on Slides

To-Do After Class

  • SUBMIT DESK DRAWING to Dropbox:
  • Draft measured drawings of Project 1 – Elevations – using your sketch information from class and the Slides from class.
    • Scale: 1/4″=1′-0″
  • Complete both Elevations by next class
    • SUBMIT pdf of your drawing following the typical pdf file naming format.
  • Watch Video “Draw Like an Architect – Essential Tips”.
    • Write into your sketchbook the Tips from the video
    • Make sketches that demonstrate what the tip describes
    • Be prepared to share your Tips next week during class.
