This course identifies redefined understandings and representations of Maleness and Manhood through physical, psychological, sociological, and philosophical approaches through literature, scholarly writing, and film. Students will learn the subject of sex, sexuality, sexual orientation, perception, identity, power, politics of manhood, violence, and the use or expectation of male dominance.

This course studies female development from a historical, economic, sociological, psychological, and anthropological perspective. Students will focus on readings and research concerning women with an analytical emphasis on biological versus cultural orientations in the literature.
