Pathways: Electives
Develops active respect towards differences in perspectives, experiences, values, and history within a critical framework for understanding mechanisms of oppression and structural forms of power and privilege. Examines the interconnections with groups who have a shared history of oppression. Emphasis is on marginalized groups, race, and gender equity, and change strategies to promote social justice.
HEA 1108 Women’s Health Issues
A study of the health concepts specific to women. Lifestyle behaviors, violence against women, sexuality and reproductive issues, fertility, the older years, and specific health and medical problems. Politics and economics of medical care, resources for prevention, self-help, and treatment.
HEA 1110 Human Sexuality
An overview of sex and sexuality in today’s society. Birth control, conception, anatomy, physiology of human sexual responses, STD’s, sexual dysfunctions and other related topics.
