After reading “The Yellow Wallpaper” I have this clear understanding that the narrator could possibly be going through Post pardon depression due to the fact that she just gave birth. Her husband isn’t much of an understanding person & he’s making her go crazy by keeping her locked in. Rather than going out & doing funfilled activities to reduce her stress & depression, he’s making her stay home in a room locked away like she’s a child whose in trouble. He doesn’t allow her to go outside, spend time with her family/friends, or even see their own child. Instead he wants her around his dreadful family that doesn’t really have much fun. Her obsession with this yellow wallpaper is basically her seeing her life in a different light. She’s believing this other person she’s seeing through this wall can potentially be her. So she tears it apart hoping for a sense of freedom. In my opinion I think he husband shouldn’t be so selfish & help her feel better about herself. He shouldn’t keep her caged in like an animal or make her feel any worst than she already does.
