After reading the book previously last year, I still enjoyed the drama, the love, the hatred and every emotion that this book portrayed. I think that if Victor Frankenstein did not destroy the female companion that he was trying to build for his creature no killings would be happening in the book. They would of happily moved out and lived their life somewhere quite where no human beings lived. If Victor Frankenstein’s purpose was to destroy the female companion that he was trying to build for the creature so that the creature can kill off his family is another possibility. I really enjoyed the book because everyone thought that the creature was the monster when in reality it was Victor Frankenstein. He killed the creatures only family and if we were in the creatures shoes we would retaliate the same way. The only thing that the creature wanted to do was to be loved and even Victor Frankenstein that was supposed to be his family thought he was monster and a devil. The moral story of the book is that you don’t judge a book by its cover.

  1. I also enjoyed the book for its drama and emotions aspects, every action that happened revolved around emotion and it made the read interesting. I agree with you that if Victor Frankenstein created a companion for the creature it would maybe stop the creature from killing but not stop all deaths in the book. You said Victor Frankenstein’s purpose to destroy the companion was to kill of his family and making him the bigger monster. This got me thinking more about the book and what gothic it brings.

I completely agree with you saying the actual creature is victor because if you take time to analyze the events going on in the book the only reason the creature acted off of violence was because of how others & victor treated him. Victor himself had family at one point, whereas the creature never had anyone. The female creature would’ve been someone to possibly continue his feelings & emotions because she would be someone who would accept him for who he is. Overall, I think victor should’ve been more sympathetic towards the creatures feelings because he didn’t have friends & family like him. He’s considered human now so he should be treated as one.
