The research question that i have chosen for my paper is how does early childhood experiences effect your mental health later in life. I’m very interested in this question because i have done several hours of research and have noticed that there are major differences mentally between people who have had early child hood traumas and people who haven’t. Having dealt with personnel mental health issues I feel like this is a topic not only I can speak on but doe some research on to maybe help myself and the people around me. I am interested in this topic because it allows me to figure out what things i can do to calm myself in certain situations . Also mental health is such a big issue in our society i want to be more educated on the situation because this allows me to vote for the political figures that can help with these issues and getting people the help they need. The answers I’m expecting to find with my research is what kind of issues cause a huge amount of trauma in a Child’s life . Also I would like to see the benefits of a raising a child with a healthy upbringing. My hypothesis isn’t based off of children being raised in a good upbringing and then having negative behaviors but i would like to see all the consequences . If I don’t find something that does not fit my hypothesis i will state it to the reader and then show why i still believe my hypothesis and back it up with facts. These are just some of the ideas and concepts i was planning for my paper .
Just to be clear–you are not writing a paper. This is an annotated bibliography which is a very specific genre. Look at the assignment carefully as I put links there and also provide a template for the genre.
Also, be careful that all your sources tie exactly to your question and its focus. Your question is about how the effects of childhood experiences (traumatic ones I imagine) tie to mental health. That is different than comparing children with who are traumatized vs those that are not. It is also different from strategies and policies that address the problem.
