Micro-Activity #12: Researching

My research question is “Is there a policy that local and the government are struggling to reduce the use of plastic for the environment? Then is it effective or not?”
I got interested in this question when I first came to New York last year. Trash cans on most New York streets are not in a separable form. So people throw all kinds of garbage in one place without recycling. I was very shocked to see it. Also, the use of disposable plastic and plastic bags in food trucks and restaurants made me think a lot like ‘Is there no regulation on the use of plastic in this country?’ And I found plastic bags stuck in trees as I am walking down the streets and realized that the plastics are a big problem for the environment. On top of that, I became more interested in this environmental issue when I saw an article in the class that marine lives mistook plastic waste for food and died of wounds.
I can feel the climate changes every year, and I’m aware that if people continue to live like this, the environment in which we live is not better but more likely to change worse. So, I hope everyone understands the concept of plastic use and proper recycling and protects the environment from now on. I expect that the government already has some restrictions. I also look forward to finding information and answers on what regulations it is and what policies are being implemented in other states as well as New York State and whether they are effectively reducing usage. If I find information that does not fit my hypothesis, I will first check and determine whether the information is correct or not. Then include it in my research paper if it is accurate and useful information related to my question.
