Micro-Activity #11: Developing Research Questions”

The problem I am going to research is homelessness and why  homelessness keeps growing in New York City. Today, more New Yorkers are experiencing homelessness than ever before. Homelessness has become a major problem in New York City over the past decade. The number of homeless New Yorkers  this year is the highest number of homeless people in the United States. Statistics show last year,  this city there are more than 8.4 million people living here and nearly one in every 125 New Yorkers is homeless. That’s nearly 70,000 men, women and children.

Questions to search for:

  • The causes of  homelessness in New York City
  • Skyrocketing rents and an affordable housing crisis in NYC.
  • Biggest income gap in NYC between middle and lower income.
  • Solution of homelessness or how to reduce homelessness crisis
  • State government and Mayor can do about it.

These are all good topics to focus on, but what are your questions? For example you might ask What are some solutions that can help reduce the homeless crisis in NYC?
