The Declaration of Independence is one of the most important documents in United State of America History and this led to the country independence from British. The main purpose of the Declaration was to announce the colonies as separate from England. It outlines the principles that were the foundation for declaring independence. During the years of 1773 to 1776, the 13 colonies became more unhappy with the British Empire. The two sides became more confrontational and the 13 colonies were ready to declare themselves free from the British Empire. Thomas Jefferson was the main writer of the document. In my thought this document is persuasive because the document was clear that they want to freedom from British colonies. The importance of the Declaration of Independence today is the same as all declarations of the past, which is the right to complain, contest. It provides the foundation for our nation and offers for our country to live by. It states that the government exists to serve the people and make sure that the people have a right to revolt against them if they can no longer confirm their rights.
