The discourse community I choose is First Generation Latinx College Students. During the process of writing the letter to the college administration, I found it more comfortable to use this format because I can address my audience directly which makes it a smoother writing process. I used Wollstonecraft as a guide to address the administration directly. Also, the advantage that I do not need to include full quotations from the sources allows the reader to focus more on the content of the piece, and don’t get distracted with the name of the magazine or one of the researchers. Lastly, it took me less time to write this assignment because I was adding information from the sources throughout the text rather than taking a quote and expanding from there.
