The Purdue Online Writing Lab describes how primary sources come directly from the source which includes interviews, surveys, observations, and so forth. It also talks about how you must evaluate your sources to be able to get the best information which can be valuable to the paper you are writing. Moreover, it helps to expand on what can be found on the World Wide Web and how you can use it to your advantage. It gives Internet references to dictionaries, books, e-texts to help progress the research process, as well as teaches us how to do archival research.

I think that my team should conduct research on our vintage computer by visiting the library`s database since it contains so much information which can help introduce the topic as well as explain what the product was originally meant to do. It can also help my team to identify the vintage computer`s various parts, and determine what those parts can do. Then as we find some valuable research, we will follow any links that those websites may have and do even further research which can help us in our project. Last but not least, we will look at some YouTube videos which can help us look at the parts more closely and actually see the vintage computer in action, which we will not be able to do in class since the computer can not be turned on.

The Purdue OWL page discuses the topic of research, since we have a enormous amount of information to access, we need to focus on finding the right research for our topics. They recommend asking yourself questions that can help narrow down your search. You need to find research that isn’t bias, or non objective. You can use the internet, which would be easier to access but might not have the most relevant or commendable sources. Libraries and searching archives could helpful to access as well.

Within our group, we are going to focus on a specific aspect of the computer and search based around those parameters. Most of the research will be conducted over the internet, making sure to get sources that are reputable. One of the biggest pieces of help would be video sources, people who have posted videos of themselves discussing the computer at length and showing off what they can do.

Conducting research can be sometimes overwhelming. The world today offers many ways to make easier for us to find any kind of research within two minutes . The internet can be a great tool but the website must be something you are positive that provides actual facts. Books of course are always a better tool to trust. Although, it can sometimes take just a little more time. A very important tip is to always document all the data that you have gather while doing research. When conducting research one must always give credit where the credit is due. My team and I should always make sure to document all our data and divide the research between all of us that are working in this project.

Since the world that we live in is filled with different ways to gather information on different topics and depths of specific topics doing research it can be a lot more interesting. Once you find the topic you would like to research you can start to evaluate sources of information and start internet references which is a page that contains links to either online sites, e-books, or any other source of information that you got using electronics. Having a variety of archives is very necessary and helps your research on so many aspects to help your research to be more accurate based on the different tests and surveys that you have done or read about.

Purdue OWL’s “Conducting Research” provided the different types of research that there is, such as Research Overview, Conducting Primary Research, and Evaluating Sources of Information, Searching the World Web, Internet References, and Archival Research. A brief description of how each are conducted. The best research methods I believe would be best suitable for my team’s research on our vintage computer, would be to do conducting primary research, searching the World Wide Web, and archival research. In which, we would use the internet for its resources, obtaining details and background information surrounding our vintage computer, lastly reviews regarding the vintage computers at that time of the computer being used.

The purdue OWL discusses where you should begin when doing research and where to get sources of information from. When doing primary research you are collecting data from a variety of sources to research a specific subject. When looking for these sources evaluate their credibility, and whether or not they are useful for your subject. The internet provides a vast amount of potential sources such as ebooks, journals, articles, etc. to search through and filter for reliability towards your subject.

When conducting research i believe my team should search through the libraries database, google scholars and youtube on the Commodore 64. We can study the computer and research its observed content and functionality through articles and manuals we can find online. Through youtube videos we can learn the history of the computer and have a better visual understanding of its use.

This article is about how to do research and how to succeed on it. Nowadays we have way too many sources and informations and it can be hard to organize the data. First of all we have to start collecting data as our primary research. It involves details, surveys, observations and analysis. After we collect data we have to evaluate our source of information. This step is important because it provides us with citations or reading evaluations. Also we can find sources in WWW but sometimes it can be frustrating with too much information and pages. It can get complicated trying to find specific information or with no useful data. We can also use internet references and archives. These can help us a lot because they have short descriptions, books, online libraries and so on.
For my team in order to find good resources I think we have to find informations in archives, because they will have old informations or even maybe interviews and videos when these computers were built. New informations about our vintage computer might not be good. We also need search in YouTube some videos, they might have videos that recorded when this computer was invented. WWW web page would be helpful too if we can find primary resource. Overall for my team’s research we have to try to find information that are older, which they will include better informations in my opinion.

This article is about how we will have to use a specific technique in order to find the research for our computers. For example we are doing a research on computers so we can try to go to companies and do interviews with them, do online research on how the computer’s function a specific ways. Knowing with an idea what you wanna learn about this specific topic and how it help improve your research, how to not research a broad topic but rather be specific as possible to get right at the point. We have so much different sources in finding what we want now days so in order for us to do that we should always cite the sources, get our ideas from books. articles and the actual source itself.

In this reading, Purdue OWL discusses how to properly conduct research. It answers several questions one might have about doing research, such as what sources are available, and how to begin. First, it discusses how to conduct primary research, which is research you collect yourself. This includes surveys, interviews, and observations. While the other type of research is looking for information that is already online or printed. However one should be careful about using online resources as not all are reliable or useful. One of the best ways to discover research online is by using databases, such as lexisnexis instead of just search engines.

I believe that my team should divide what research we want to do. One person can look into how the computer works, while another views the history of the company that made it. In the end, we would
bring all that information together and see which would be good to keep for the paper.

    SUBJECT: “Conducting research” summary
The article focuses on how to successfully conduct research on a topic. In today’s world we are overwhelmed many different sources of information, it is often hard to know where to even begin researching. Primary research is any piece of information that you collect yourself, this includes interviews and surveys. Primary research is a great way to start however sometimes secondary sources are a great way to find more information from experts in the topic. Secondary research includes articles and books. The researchers must make sure they evaluate the origin of their sources, you want quality not quantity. As said before there are tons of information available but not all is accurate. You have to be very careful and selective of the websites you will get your information from, often, .org and .edu websites are the ones with the best credentials.
I think that my team should start with a google search that will generate documents as well educational videos that will give us a better understanding on how our machine operates and some background information. When we have a general idea of our topic we should move on to better sources such as the library’s database that could gives us more in depth information about our specific machine.

In the article the author talks about conducting research and the steps that are needed to do it properly. You have to always question your sources of information. A good place to start a research is at the library perhaps. Primary research is the use of interviews, observation and analysis or even surveys. This requires you to verify the information that you take from the sources such as the internet.

I think that my team should start by splitting up the different types of research topics in order to be more precise on each topic. Doing primary and secondary research on separate topics will help us to gather more information. After we gather all the necessary information we then should come together as a group and fill each other in.

Subject: Beginning of Class Writing: “Conducting Research”

This article describes how to conduct research, or where to start when conducting research. The questions that were answered were Where do I begin? Where should I look for information? What types of sources are available? The article described that we could collect primary research, which is information that you would go out and collect yourself. Examples would be questionnaires, surveys, or interviews. The next thing the article states is that we should evaluate the sources that we pick carefully, since not all sources are credible. Keeping that in mind, we should check the information we will be using when researching. Using the internet can also be useful when collecting information, however, it can also be very stressful. Like mentioned previously, not all sources are credible. Something else that could be frustrating is the amount of information that is given. Although a lot of information is given, we have to use the information that is relevant to what we are researching and try not to digress from our original point. Another type of way to research would be through archives. Archives are collections of materials kept by organizations like universities or historical societies, whose materials are often unpublished and are preserved for their intrinsic or research value. These archives could influence your project and allow it to move in new ways that you probably wouldn’t have thought of by yourself. For our project, I know our group will use a variety of different techniques. Definitely using the internet and primary research as a form of researching techniques.
