Review the introductory course syllabi you looked at in class. What does this information tell you about what you should expect this semester? What information interests or surprises you?
The information on the introductory course syllabi that we looked at in class tells me that the class requires you to be resposible for your own work and participate a lot. If you miss a class, you will be resposible for making sure you look online for the work you missed and be able to communicate with your teacher about it. You’ll also be required to check your email at least once a day and reply to them if it’s necessary. Something that surpirsed me was that the highest portion of the class is graded on participation. I would expect it to be around 20% or even only 10% of the class, but it’s very high, meaning that if you’re absent a lot you will lose lots of points. I also noticed that on the last 2 pages it shows the schedule for the entire semester and what you would be working on in each class, which I find very helpful.
The information on the course syllabi informs us to the expectations for us, students and clear information on how to do so. For example, it provides a visual chart on when we have major assignments due, what days we do not have class, and giving us resources where to get extra help. The information that surprises me the most is that students are able to redo assignments and resubmit it if they’re not happy with their grade. I find this beneficial, as it not only provides feedback on my work but also offers the opportunity to revise and strengthen my writing skills.
What I found reading the syllabus is that participation is key to passing this class unlike in other classes I have. Which of course still needs participation but not as much as in this class. So getting a lot of absences would really bring you down if you make it a habit. Also I learned that I should check my email all the time just Incase something is sent to me that I need to do. Also I learned that I can redo assignments if I got a low grade on it which is extremely helpful.
The information in the introductory courses tells me what part of the class will have the most impact on my grade. I find this interesting because, even though I’ll complete all of my assignments and contribute frequently, I can concentrate on the area of the class with the highest percentage. The fact that there were deadlines for important work intrigued me as well. This implies that I can begin them early and finish them more quickly. The professors contact information was a plus too.
After reviewing the syllabus, I see that I can use this to check for any important dates and when to submit work.to also understand the assignment and the grading policy and also that attendance is very important
This information on the syllabus tells me dates on when I should expect my major assignment due. It also gives me a mindset of checking my email twice a day to see if the professor posted anything for the class. This information tells me I should go to class and participate to get 30% of my grade. I also know that their is an option of re-doing assignments for a higher grade. If I need help or missed anything I can go to the professor office hours.
As reading the syllabus, I was able to obtain certain information that would be helpful to any student taking that course. You are, of course, taking responsibility for your own work. I really like how you are able see how the professor grades her essay so you can see what you truly need and what to work on. The information helps students/ leaners what to expect during the class and achieve a good grade and how to maintain it. The information that interests me is the Participation Garde Criteria, you are able to see what is needed in class so it will be added on with attendance. Overall, a very helpful/informative syllabus.
After reviewing the syllabus, I see that I can use this to check for any important dates and when to submit work. It tells me I am expected to complete work 100% in my own words and what required material I might need. Something that interests me from the syllabus is how the professor put all of the information on how to start off my writing which includes the form, font, grammar, punctuation, and length. This interests me because I would expect to see this on the assignment prompt not on the syllabus. It shows everything is on it so most of my questions get answered.
After reviewing the syllabus, I was able to get certain information about the course.I also understand how I could take responsibility of my own work.I tells me how the professor would grade my work through out the course.
That portion of the class will have the biggest influence on my grade point average is disclosed in the introductory courses. This is fascinating to me because it allows me to focus on the class area with the highest percentage, even if I’ll still finish all of my assignments and make frequent contributions. I was also interested by the concept that significant work had deadlines. This suggests that I can start them earlier and complete them faster. Additionally helpful was the professor’s contact information.
The syllabus tells me all the details and information that I need to understand and complete the course. It tells me the requirements and responsibilities that I have as a student. It also lets me know when the assignments and due dates are. The information that I was surprised at was that most of our passing grade is based on participation.
What interesting me is the grade percentage for participation. It’s 30%for participation grade! More than the exam and homework. But the syllabus was very organized, by date of when there’s school off and other events. So I learn to be organize.
The syllabus displays what I need to do and when I need it done by. It shows that I need to be responsible and mindful with my time, not only how I spend it, but also where and when I’m spending it. The thing that interested me was how participation was what has the highest toll on the grading. No one ever thinks of it as a big deal but when you participate it shows that you know and understand the material.
We learn about the expectations placed on us as students via the course syllabus, along with detailed instructions on how to meet them. For instance, it gives us places where we may receive additional help and a graphic schedule that shows when our big assignments are due and the days we have off from class. If students are unhappy with their grades, they can retake tasks and turn them in. This helps, in my opinion, because it gives me the chance to improve and hone my writing abilities in addition to offering criticism on my work.It also keeps me on track and tells me what I need to do.
You should review the syllabus to look out for dates when homework and exams are due. To look at dates when classes are switched around and when there’s holidays and you don’t need to come to classes. The syllabus shows what percentage homework and participation are averaged out to your grade. What surprised me was the professor having participation as the largest portion for the final grade.
The syllabus tells you what should be expected of you this semester and the things you need to pass. Also keeps you on track of which days we have school and what days we don’t because sometimes the citytech website cant always be accessed and with this you’ll have it marked already in your calendar. What really suprised me was that you need to participate in order to pass but at the same time I feel that it’s good because that way class will seem more active and time will pass by quicker as to having a quiet class
The course syllabus shows us the required materials needed, What major assignments are for example, participating is the most important because it’s 30% of the grade. It also talks about how it’s important to be in time for class and in case of anything that is important we can email her or see her in office hours. Also the most important thing in the syllabus is “Academic Integrity/Plagiarism” and “Re-Submission of graded work” if we are not happy with the grade we got.
This workshop will enhance the new student experience with information, activities, and various opportunities to connect with faculty, staff, and current City Tech students.

The syllabus showed that if I don’t do one or more of my assignments and I failed I shouldn’t be surprised
