The trip to the Museum of the City of New York, the class visited 2 exhibits. One was called “Interior Lives Contemporary Photographs of Chinese New Yorkers”  are photographs by Thomas Holton, Annie Ling, and An Rong Xu. The exhibit had a lot of open space and dim lights. The photographs were framed on each wall. The categories that the photographs were broken into was the documentation of the lives of Chinese New Yorkers, demonstrating their everyday lives. The photographs range from the year 2003 until now.

The second was “ Through a different lens ” exhibit was has more lighting and had photos of everyday Americans such as New Yorkers in the 1940s. For example, they were pictures of people on the subway, walking on the sidewalk or even at the amusement park also a mother out shopping with her children, to people riding the train and even couples spending time together, these photos were taken around the 1940s as well.

The photo that I like most of Stanley Kubrick picture is one in the makeup room. Stanley Kubrick was just 17 when he sold his first photograph to the pictorial magazine Look in 1945. Kubrick trained the camera on his native city, drawing inspiration from the nightclubs, street scenes, and sporting events.
