    Question 01 –
Describe how to create an adjustment layer.
In adobe photoshop to add an adjustment layer, you first have to open the layer panel. To open the layers panel you have to go to the top of the screen in the window and then look for layers. When the layers panel is open you have to make sure you select the layer you want to create an adjustment layer for. Once you have this selected you can see the bottom of the Layers panel there are some symbols, click on the half-circle black and white. There are different options to chose from, one option is hue/saturation you can click this and a new panel will pop up. In the new panel, you can drag the triangle of hue to change the color, the saturation, and the lightness of the layer.

    Question 02
How do you make that adjustment only apply to the layer beneath it and what is that know as?
In adobe photoshop an adjustment layer by default won’t just be added to one specific layer even if that’s what you intended. To change this all you have to do is select the adjustment layer and make sure it is right on top of the layer you want the adjustment to be in. Then press alt or the options button this will clip the layer and click the layer to apply it.

    Question 01 –

Describe how to create an adjustment layer.

In Adobe Photoshop, adjustment layers are important parts of editing your artwork. The first step to creating an adjustment layer is to bring out the layer tab by going to the “Window” tab in the top-left row and clicking “Layers” or by pressing “F7” on your keyboard. There should be a locked “background layer” by default. Now, go down to the bottom row of tools in the “Layers” panel and click on the fourth button (in the middle) with an icon of a circle with half black and half white fill. You should see a drop-down menu reveal itself with many different options. For now, click “Hue/Saturation”. There is your adjustment layer! Another way you can make an adjustment layer is by going the “Layer” tab in the top-left row of the screen, and clicking “New Adjustment Layer” and choose which one you want!

    Question 02 –

How do you make that adjustment only apply to the layer beneath it and what is that know as?

By default, this adjustment layer will affect all layers below it. In order to ensure that this adjustment layer only affects the layer directly below it, you have to “Alt” or “Option” click on the bottom of the adjustment layer. Your cursor should have a perpendicular arrow on it before you alt-click the layer. By doing this you create a clipping mask that only applies the adjustment layer to the layer below it.

    Question 01 –

Describe how to create and adjustment layer.
In Adobe Photoshop, click on Window on the top left of your screen and select Layers. Once the Layers panel appears, towards the bottom center, there should be a half white half black ball that states “Create new fill or adjustment layer”. By clicking on that ball, you can choose to change the appearance of all objects within the layer you selected. A faster way would be to click on Layer on the top left side of your screen and select New Adjustment Layer.

    Question 02 –

How do you make that adjustment only apply to the layer beneath it and what is that know as?
First you have to select the half black half white ball to create an adjustment layer in the layers panel. Once the adjustment layer is created, you hover between the line that separates the adjustment layer with the layer beneath it, hold the alt option button on your keyboard, and left click. You are therefore creating a clipping mask.

      Hey Angy!

You actually reminded me that I can go to the Layer tab while I was writing my response! I don’t think there would ever be a reason why I’d choose to go there instead of pressing the button, but it is always good to know that something can be done in multiple ways!
