To create a curve adjustment you’ll have to select a layer. The curve adjustment tool allows you to control shadows, highlights, and midtones. They are controlled by the sliders. But once the layer is selected for adjustment. The curve adjustment tool can be found in the the adjustments panel by selecting the curves icon. It can also be found in the bottom of the layers panel by the circle black and white icon. Once the curve adjustment is applied the layer is adjustable and can be changed at any given moment. Which is important because you don’t want to permanently change it. This allows go back to fix much easier. To create a merged layer on top of the stacking order layers have to be selected. Once the layers are selected they can be merged by pressing command D. Merge layers can also be created by going to the top menu panel and selecting “Layers” then selecting “ Merge Layers”.
