I thought this piece showed into the author’s personal journey as a former college athlete and his experiences made it interesting to read.

The intended audience of this piece are individuals interested in sports, college athletics, or college athletes concerned about fairness and justice in sports.

This is an example of a feature article because it goes into a specific topic and provides indepth analysis by incorporating personal experiences and mixing it with his research.

The author uses a persuasive tone throughout the piece. He used pathos by using emotions such as empathy. also, the use of ethos is seen through the author’s credibility as a former college athlete and current senator,

The author’s style is was very passionate , I like how he used his research to support his arguments, showing the true side of the problems that college athletics deal with.
I enjoyed reading the author’s history with football but then I kind of found everything else boring since it wasn’t really a topic I prefer.
I think this piece is mainly directed towards policymakers and athletes (college more specifically) since he shared his points in an empathetic way
Because it blends his personal story with a persuasive argument with facts and he shared this information while staying relatable
The author’s use of ethos was impressive since it made me feel like he knew what she was talking about and ensured me he spoke with the right people
I admire his ability to effectively communicate complex issues. But, I am still a bit curious about the provisions of the proposed college athletes bill of rights.
