I watched the short video about education narrative and genres, and I also red students’ feedbacks about it, and I am trying my best to learn something about it. I like culinary, and I try to cook. I want to cook a fancy and tasty dish, and I need to have skills and, most importantly, need good ingredients. Without good and fresh ingredients, your fancy dish will be a big fiasco. Analogously, to write education narrative requires what the video calls conventions ( ingredients) to make your piece of writing, your story, your moment to teach enjoyable. Before writing anything, you need to do your prep work. I need to decide what I will be writing, my audience, what vocabulary to use, and what tone I should use. Also, one more important idea is that you must express your main idea for your audience. It is very important. I think that a good way to start for an education narrative would something from your own experience. Suppose I want to write a story about my arrival in New York and my first months in the United States of America. My primary audience will be my classmates and my teacher. I need to take it into consideration all those aspects mentioned above to make my writing exciting and successful.
I still don’t know a lot about genre awareness; it is a significant learning moment for me. I encourage and count on my teacher and my fellow students to help me through this process. I want to master writing skills and be successful in my life and my career.
