Last (fun) Assignment

“Instead of reading for content or to better understand the ideas in the writing (which you will automatically do to some degree anyway), you are trying to understand how the piece of writing was put together by the author and what you can learn about writing by reading a particular text.”

-Mike Bunn

“Almost all good writing begins with terrible first efforts. You need to start somewhere. Start by getting something – anything – down on paper.”

-Anne Lamott

Last ( fun) assignment

Hello future student all I truly have to say is that you got this and don’t let anything or anyone tell you different. We’re going to have to work twice as hard then the previous graduating class, only because the times were going through. But once you get the ball rolling ain’t no telling when it’s going to stop. Im not going to say good luck but I am going to say “keep pushing, you got this”

PS:  You have a great motivating professor to help you get through it.

Annoying Way People Use Resources

Quote 1: But readers and writers don’t always see eye to eye on the same text. In fact, some things I write about in this essay will only bother your pickiest readers (some teachers, some editors, some snobby friends), while many other readers might zoom past how you use sources without blinking

Response: This quote is perfect example of what readers has to do in there writing to make us understand certain point that they trying to make and we don’t understand it. Some of us as reader we skipped confusing quotes or part of reading because we don’t understand it but those hard parts has lots of hidden meaning behind it toward authors perspective.

Quote 2: People are often unreasonably picky, and writers have to deal with that—which they do by trying to anticipate and preemptively fix whatever might annoy a broad range of readers.

Response: A writers goals is always to make their writing more interesting for the readers. But sometimes there are readers who picks on text unreasonably and it effects the authors writing style. No matter what author always has to fix those unreasonable problem for the reader.

Quote 3: It helps me to remember that the conventions of writing have a fundamentally rhetorical nature. That is, I follow different conventions depending on the purpose and audience of my writing, because I know that I’ll come across differently to different people depending on how well I follow the conventions expected in any particular writing space.

Response: Changing the style of your writing helps you to unlock new ideas and come up with new interesting ways to attract your audience attention. It also helps when you figure out the audience you trying to target this way you can figure out the genre you can use to get that audience attention.

Quote 4: I cite a source by hyperlinking; in an academic essay, I use a parenthetical citation that refers to a list of references at the end of the essay.

Response: Its extremely important that you cite your sources. Any authors or writer when you are making a claim its important to cite your sources at the end of your text to back you up. this also helps the readers to know more about the Information by checking up the cite.
