Proposal Due on November 7th

For this unit, I would like to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of raising children in a technological world. I chose to talk about this topic because it’s interesting to see how kids now are growing up in a technological world and how advance they are getting vs kids growing up without technology. I would like to compare the two and see if having technology is a good thing to have for kids growing up. The audience that I would want to read my topic would be people who believe technology isn’t good for kids. A lot of adults don’t want their kids to be around technology because of what they hear on the news or even on any social media. They always make it seem technology is bad for everyone. If I get my targeted audience to read my writing maybe they will change their minds on how they look at technology for kids. I am planning on writing an informative essay. I chose this genre because I would like to inform the reader by analyzing data, comparing and contrasting, etc. My plan is to get as much data I can on how students developed over time back when there were no technologies vs now where there are technologies all over. I will also be sharing my own experience with technology growing up as a kid and comparing that to how my 4-year-old brother is with technology around him. One thing I think I’m worried about is I won’t have a lot of information and when I do have the information it might be repetitive. My plan for that is to read a lot of websites that talk about technology and how it affects children and summarize them and write something I find interesting and something I didn’t know.
