Something that changed my view on education was an encounter with my Computer Repair teacher in my junior year of high school. These events as well as lessons I have learned in that class are memories I will hold near and dear to me for the rest of my life. Going into the class, I was not looking forward to it because I heard the teacher was very strict on his students and wanted things perfectly his way. I believed this class was going to be annoying. The first day of class came and I remember sitting in the back of the class with all of the talkative children, the rest of them also did not really care much for the class. Then the class begun and I could tell that the teacher was strict and very serious about the work he was doing for himself as well as the students he was teaching. I was highly intimidated by the teacher as well as the student teacher who was helping him. My friends and I began talking and catching up with each other whilst the lesson was going on. The teacher became upset with this and pulled me out of the class to speak with me. This made me frustrated because there were other people talking and he decided to pull me out of the class. He asked me why. I was confused and asked him what he meant by that. He answered by saying why am I hanging around people like that when I    have so much more potential as well as opportunities and chances in life to accomplish a lot. I was speechless hearing this from him. No one had ever seen that in me, not even myself. Hearing someone tell me they saw potential and greatness in me made my attitude completely change. I  realized that a lot of teachers only want the best for their students and I should not be taking that for granted as I have in the past. Over the course of the year I grew to be one of the best students in this class, and the teacher proposed to me many opportunities in life for me to be successful in the field that I am in.
