Our Dynamic Rochelle Park Structural team is looking for an Intern/Co-op for the Spring 2020 Semester.

Your Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist engineers in the preparation of contract documents and reports for a variety of civil and structural engineering projects ranging highways and interchanges to bridges and toll plazas.
  • Responsibilities include computer aided design and drafting, checking drawings and calculations, quantity take-offs, simple structural calculations, and field inspection.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Minimum requirements include some exposure to CAD Design programs and current good academic standing in accredited engineering school.

Education and Experience

Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters Engineering Program
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic calculations and lay outs.
  • Utilization of Revit in development of three dimensional models of buildings and their components under direction of more senior staff.
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various engineering phases including site plans, floor plans, elevations, building sections, details, energy models, and calculations.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations and a basic understanding of mechanical engineering concepts.
  • Basic experience with modeling/drafting software (Autodesk Revit, Trane Trace) are preferred.
  • Basic experience with design software (Trane Trace, EQuest,) are preferred.
  • Basic understanding of floor plans, one lines, and details.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Course work towards completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study is required.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma is required (or equivalent).
  • Up to 2 years of related project or internship experience is preferred.

Transportation Planner Intern (Summer 2020)

Stantec’s multi-disciplinary office on 5th Avenue in NYC, has an opportunity for a highly motivated Transportation Planner Intern.

This is a paid internship position with full-time hours during the summer fall.  Please only apply if you can meet the schedule requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with transportation impact studies, traffic data collection and data analysis, write reports, and other technical assignments.
  • Collect traffic data via publicly available sources and field visits.
  • Analyze traffic data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Perform traffic analysis using HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and Cube.
  • Support our roadway design and traffic engineering groups.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills
  • An interest in transportation planning and engineering.
