The mindset is the attitude toward someone, organizing, goal setting, learning, courage, and how you respond to situations. Self-advocacy is speaking for yourself, communicating, desires, needs, and rights. We speak for ourselves when we need something, and ask questions if it’s not understandable. It is important to me because I know what I want. I have to self-advocate for myself because no one is going to do it for me in college.

I totally agree! We need to speak for ourselves when things aren’t right. Definitely! The more assertive you can be then, people could never take advantage of you and your efforts.

I agree with you, because no one will help us in a way of learning, it’s our need, which we have to do.

I believe that hard work pays off. Because when you most want something its natural for the person to do everything in their power to get what they want. An example of this could be to get good grades. A student will have to study for hours and review over topics to get good grades. And if done right they would most likley get a high grade

Nothing in life was built without hard work and effort. So I agree you will have to put in the time to see the results.

I believe time management is one of the most important concepts that every college student needs. With time management students can finish their day completing all of their tasks and avoid problems like missing the deadline of assignments, stress, not having a time for themselves etc.

Time management is very important because one minute you could see that you have 1 month to complete an essay and then suddenly it’s due tomorrow. Managing your time ensures you stay on top of deadlines.

Mindset to me is the most basic abilities which can be developed through hard work, dedication and devotion and can be show cased through attitudes held by someone. Also Self advocacy is being able to communicate effectively, socializing, showing interests in things we like which helps to increase your growth mindset and real self.

    • Salma Razak

I agree with the definition of mindset. It can change over time with the hard work we put into.

  5. Kirill

The mindset encompasses how you organize, create goals, learn, have bravery, and react to circumstances. Speaking up for oneself, and communicating needs, wants, and rights are all parts of self-advocacy. When we need anything, we speak for ourselves and ask questions if necessary. I care about it because I am aware of what I desire. No one at college is going to speak out for me, so I have to do it myself.

    • Salma Razak

Your last line! No one is going to advocate more for you than yourself!

A concept I believe is important is time management. Knowing how to manage your time is one of the best things you can ever practice as a college student—going to school and having a job, doing homework, and having a social life. Time management will make everything flow smoothly in your life.

    • Salma Razak

Job, social life, homework and school is a lot! Time management is very important because you never want to miss assignments! It definitely will make things go smoothly.
