In Merchandising Planning and Control, I developed a comprehensive understanding of the key strategies for merchandising goods profitably in a retail environment. The course focused on solving merchandising and management problems by analyzing practical applications of principles like planning, pricing, and inventory control. I learned how to manipulate merchandise investments effectively, using mathematics to ensure profitability and make data-driven decisions. A significant part of the course was gaining proficiency in retail mathematics through real-world examples and illustrations. For my final project, I prepared a six-month merchandising plan for a store, applying the principles of merchandise planning to optimize profitability. This project helped me develop the skills to analyze, plan, and execute successful retail strategies.
