BUF 2400: Product Development in Fashion

In Product Development, I gained a comprehensive understanding of how fashion products evolve from concept to consumer, focusing on the research and design processes that drive garment creation. Through the course, I explored how trend cycles, consumer behavior, and social, political, and economic influences shape the development of fashion trends. My projects examined how these factors are integrated into product development, culminating in a final project on the high-fashion brand CELINE. This project allowed me to analyze CELINE’s approach to design, consumer appeal, and market positioning. By understanding the connections between trends and consumer preferences, I developed insights into how brands adapt and innovate within the fashion industry. The course enhanced my ability to critically assess the forces influencing product development and design in high-fashion contexts.
