In Textile and Non-Textile Analysis, I developed a foundational understanding of the materials essential to fashion and interior design. The course introduced me to the various types of textile fibers, weaves, knits, finishes, and yarns used in design, giving me the tools to identify and analyze fabric characteristics. Through hands-on projects, I applied this knowledge to explore the functionality and aesthetics of textiles in fashion, enhancing my ability to assess their quality and suitability for different applications. I also gained a firm grasp of the specialized vocabulary required to describe and evaluate textiles, which is vital for effective communication within the industry. By studying textiles and non-textile materials, I deepened my appreciation for the integral role of these materials in shaping design outcomes. This course gave me the essential knowledge to make informed decisions about fabric selection in fashion design and beyond.
