- Refer to the reading list on the ARCH 1231 Course Hub for specific pages
- Submit scanned + formatted Reading Notes+ Sketches
- In addition to your notes + sketches, be sure to reflect on and answer the following questions:
- How does the book define architecture?
- How does that compare / contrast with my own understanding of architecture?
- Due Friday September 10, 12pm (post to Miro)
- Module I: Case Study Building – Federal Hall
- Visit Federal Hall on your own some time in the next 2 weeks
- Take a selfie in front of the building so I know you were there
- Produce 3 sketches of the building while you are there
- At least one overall sketch (elevation or perspective of the building)
- At least one detail sketch (could be any details you choose)
- Third sketch is up to you
- Due Friday September 10, 12pm (post to Miro)
- Module I: Case Study Building – Plan Geometry Diagram
- Study the first floor plan of Federal Hall
- On the Miro board, produce a diagram breaking the floor plan down into its key geometric forms
- This is just a first pass, so experimentation is encouraged!
