What do you think of Evansā clandestine approach to photography?
I believe Evans actually did a fantastic job taking these photos because the angle of each photo taken. As we know he took them in a secretive way but it actually looks like he did a close up for all his photos.Ā There is a book called Humans of New York and it has self portraits of people all around NYC and I believe Evans was the start of this trend just capturingĀ random moments of random people making a outspoken statement.
Do you see similaritiesĀ between the ridersā expressions during the Depression Era to todayās riders?
Most definitely!! People’s random expression are still interesting to watch- aka people watching. This photo is a perfect example of some people’s thinking faces on the train.
