I think there are similarities between the riders expression during Depression Era and today’s riders. The photograph of Walker Evan, The Subway Couple showed a photograph of a couple sat on the train and looked confused when Evan was taking their photograph. Two person wearing hats and jacket which means that it was a winter time. The lighting of the picture was really clear and neat. The couple looked very confused when Evan was taking their pictures because nobody would like to take pictures so sudden, without any poses and without being ready. Evan took their pictures without their permission. The man looked very uncomfortable with Evan’s photograph, however, the women looked comfortable and she was smiling. The man had the confuse and didn’t want to be in the picture expression on his face. Similarly, I think today people will be uncomfortable to be photographed by anybody so sudden as well. Nobody would like to be photographed by a stranger and no one would have the power to take anybody’s picture without their permission and it is illegal.
