There is no similarity between the rider’s face expressions during depression and today’s subway ride. When I ride the subway to college and back home I see people are playing games on the phone while they are listening to music. They have no idea who is setting next to them on the train. During the depression Era people were friendlier and talk to each other while they ride the train. I think the walker Evans’s subway portraits seem like they are looking at the camera while the picture is being taken. The best picture and the face expression are when you take a picture without telling the person. I can’t post a subway picture because it’s has been illegal to take picture on the subways in 2018.
