Food Photography is a type of still life photography. I think the food photography was usually used in advertisements, tried to make the food look attractive. Also, it was used in menus and cookbooks to display what the food look like.
As technology advances, small and high quality camera appears in anywhere, such as cell phone, people can take photos and upload to social medial easily. Food photography becomes a way to share or show off what they are eating.
