I don’t really have a story. But so far I feel prepared considering the fact that everything we went over I had already been told by my school and my father. Considering the fact that I have all of the supplies I’ll need besides textbooks, the only other thing that I am worried about is financial repetition. By financial repetition I mean be repetitive in paying for my tuition. Not being late, consistently having the right amount, instead of “beating around the bush”.
Preparing for college requirements more than you are, starting college means you need to force yourself to do things differently . me personally in order to feel comfortable and feel like I belong to the City Tech school community, I need to be open mended. And also build connections, so I can gain the confidence to interact with students and my professors.
I have no story to tell however, I am ready to transition from high school as a young kid/ Teen to a young adult in college. I was very nervous was doubting if I was ready to make this next step. Now I’m ready and can’t wait for the semester to start and begin my college life.
Everyone gets nervous at some point and I’m happy to see your excited for the semester to start.
For starters I joined this (CT101) which has bought new things to my attention. Also, I joined MAT1275 which ends late because I want to be prepared for my math class this fall. I’m getting my calendar organized and will organize my notes!
Getting organized sounds great and its good that you are preparing for your math class.
When I first knew I was going to city tech I did a lot of research on the school and back ground because I was so excited about going to college but when the time came closer I got a bit scared because I am not really a outgoing person and I’m very quiet so I was scared that I wasn’t going to make friends. But after taking this class and doing a tour I got more comfortable and more confident in myself and hope I success in college
I’m glad that this course helped you in some way and I admire your outlook for this semester.
So far preparing for college has been a very new experience and I honestly have been kinda emotional about it because it’s so different than high school and I do think about if I keep up my procrastination habits it will make me drastically fall back. However, to help myself get out of this mindset I just treat every day as a new day and focus my energy on the task in the present and not leave it to sit because it will disrupt everything else.
I can feel the same way as you, what I do to prepare for college is also change my mindset, like change my position from a high school student change to a college student.
I’m glad you indicated that procrastination is not always the best habit and that you will strive to improve on your habits.
stepping into City Tech I’m super excited to meet the people in my major and start making this place feel like a second home. I’m ready to leave behind the bad habits from high school and build new, better ones as I dive into college life. I look forward to starting classes, make new friends, and make the most out of this experience!
Glad to hear you have a great mind set and want to strive to do better this semester.
How I am preparing to enter to be a student at City Tech is preparing to make friends in my major and even just socializing more throughout my years at City Tech and making sure I make a good experience at City Tech. I as well wanna keep my good habits from high school and even join clubs that are in my interest, I can’t wait to start but nervous at the same time but my time in CT101 has helped me in a way have a great experience the time being there.
Socializing is definitely a good skill you can build on. I’m happy hear that CT 101 has helped you in some way.
How I am preparing to become a city tech student is by making friends, social groups that will make me feel more comfortable and confident about the transition to college. I hope to join clubs and find good, cool people, a friend group and become close.
Im preparing by getting all my supplies, textbooks and documents ready for the start. I want to continue good habits I already have and start up bettering myself and other habits for the best.
This workshop has helped me get a small grasp and understanding and comfortably with the school.

I’m glad that this workshop has given you some insight. I like that you mentioned you will continue good habits as well.
In order to prepare for college I started by buying a planner and new materials I’ll need for school. I’m a little scared of meeting new people but I’m confident I’ll be able to have some common interest with my fellow classmates. I’m excited to join classes and be able to try new things.

I’m also hoping to have time to do some running in order to get more familiar with my surroundings.
Right i’m a little scare to meet people as well but I feel like i’m outgoing and talkative enough to where i’ll be find but yeah i’m soo excited and nervous as well
Sounds great, A planner is definitely a great way to get organized and prepared.
The way I am preparing to be a college student is being attentive to my email, starting to learn the different ways to commute to school, preparing meals (mostly breakfast), and becoming more organized. Recently, I started checking the textbooks required for my classes and finding where my classes are located. I’m determined to get more involve inside of City Tech.
Amazing, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It seems that you are on top of things as well.
To prepare myself for college I have made changes to the way how I think for example I more attentive towards time and getting somewhere on time so by the time college start i’ll have a good time management routine I have also starting buying school supplies and stuffs that I need for my major for example I ordered my lab coat. Also I trying to not be so nervous for my first day or just starting in general cause I feel like i’m going to be overwhelmed by the amount of work i’ll receive but also i’m excited to explore my interests and just ready to start having the college experience
I admire you attitude, it seems that your all set.
Some ways I am preparing myself for college is checking my email regularly and becoming more organized since I know when school starts it will get hectic, Im learning different routes to get to CityTech, and I’ve got most of the things i need for my classes. Obviously I’m very nervous since I’m in a new environment with new people but I am excited to learn new things and make friends with my peers.
Excellent!
Checking you emails is super important so I’m glad you mentioned it.
I am actively preparing by getting my materials together along with making sure I can set up a scholarship or loan for my tuition. It’s the best thing I can do to prepare for college and just making sure I’m mentally ok to push myself through it
Preparation is key and I’m happy to hear you are already taking initiative.
To be honest I don’t really have a story, but before the City Tech 101 workshop I was feeling overwhelmed and after I attended this workshop, I kinda have an idea about what is like to be in college, so now I feel more prepared and ready to start this new chapter of my life
.
I’m glad to hear you enjoyed being in the workshop.
Honestly, I’m not only preparing myself for college but for my whole life. The worry I have for college is only the classes and the homework and test that come with it. But I am stepping up to college with the mentality that I’m going to accomplish my goals by any means possible. I’m going to try to do a lot of things that city tech offers also.
That’s Great!
I like that you mentioned you will take advantage of the resources here at City tech.
College is around the corner and the way I have been preparing myself to start this journey is by setting a different mentality (really trying to get rid of those bad habits), doing my research and overall try to enjoy the process of what I’m about to get into. I also try to find methods that can benefit me into being more organized, like working with time management, having planners, journals, etc. What I’m also preparing for college are my meals because I think it’s really important to take care of myself and keep myself healthy. I’m really excited for what City tech has to offer me and what I can be capable of.
Amazing! and I’m glad you mentioned you will be taking care of yourself. Selfcare is very important as well.
I preparing myself to be a college student in a way that is mostly about mental support and comforting myself to look beyond things, like saying something in my mind that I won’t run away from anything that looks difficult, terrible, and hard for me to do, such as a big assignment in the midterm or final, and telling myself that I will get better after finishing the assignment and I will get some reward for myself. Also, the City Tech 101 workshop helped me a lot. It taught me a lot about the campus office what are those offices for, how important are the grades and classes in college, and other information about City Tech College.
I’m happy to hear that the CT 101 workshop helped you. Rewarding you self is a great strategy in training and or encouraging yourself to get things done.
I’ve been looking forward to college for many years now. I’ve always wanted to take classes that are specific towards my interests, and I’ve been preparing for the start of school over the summer. I struggled with procrastination and a low work ethic in high school, so I am looking forward to finally getting past that and truly thriving this year, as well as meeting new people and making new friends.
Sounds great!
Glad to see you are looking forward for the semester and wanting to improve on you habits.
