Title sequence from Saul bass used the green color from the Metro Goldwyn Mayer screen to transition a reflection of everyday life from a glass building. The text is aligned to the building and slides down after a few seconds letting the viewer read. The music also swells in the background as the text moves. The apple intro sequence uses the James bond was as inspiration but modernizes and expands on its potential by steering it away from the red color instances to mostly just rainbow only. The red in James bond was probably used to draw resemblance to blood as the action packed film is also violent. By using all the colors together it makes normally vibrant colors pop more and seem like a modern take on an old classic. All the layouts are a success because they use perfectly aligned layouts that highlight certain areas of the screen and draw the eye with colors that match the part. Since apples designs came later they were for a fact influenced by definitely the bond design and one could infer the bass sequence as well.

The James Bond clip used mostly uses cold or dark colors and lot relation within its video, while the apple uses mostly warm and colorful colors to get the person who is watching active and excited while the other uses thrilling and serious colors. But the third uses mostly people in a busy city with people walking fast and slow to get to their destination makes it busier. What makes the three videos effective is it all has very colorful or dark themes it’s trying to portray to its audience, as well as its dark and light colors. I think it was by having the same standardized theme from the movie that gets the person’s action when it starts.

The “James Bond” opening sequence has the shapes and colors flashing across the the screen in almost a sort of code that went along with the music. These different shapes and colors together grab your attention as you’re getting read to enjoy the movie. The movie opening for “North by Northwest” has lines running across the screen from different angles to have the names of the people in production to display them at an angle. The grid created by the lines created a perspective view of the lettering. In the Apple’s 2019 March Event is a lot like the “James Bond” opening. It uses the same usage of shapes with color but also as their products to tie into the theme for their event.

Write down any elements of these shorts that utilize interactions of color effectively and also how the images interact with the audio. A good element that utilizes the interactions of color effectively is found in the apple video. For example, in the beginning of the apple video there are silhoets of people in a pose of dance that relate well to the music. The instance of the music and image of people dancing with the apple headphones inspires one to be in a festive mood.

I think the use of music is what makes all three of the videos effective. Music is a creative tool that crosses all borders. A person can hear a song in a foreign language yet still get a feel for whats being said or the energy that may be convinced in a song. With that knowledge, companies scheme and plot ways to used this in advertisement for the sole purpose of consumption. The use of upbeat music and bright colors are the most powerful use of design that captures the viewers eye. Apples product intro sequence was definitely influenced by the James Bond movie intro. From the black backdrop to the instances of colored dots flashing on the screen, James Bond movie intro influence can be found.

In the James Bond video many different Vibrant colors were being used. Those colors definitely matched the song they used in the video, which made it more engaging to watch. As for the North by North video I didn’t really find it all that interesting. The colors and patterns looked really boring. I mean it was really cool how they made the lines connect with each other to form a pattern but I didn’t really find it all that engaging. I would say that the apple commercial really reminded me of the James Bond video cause both videos started out dark the the colors started to become more bright and engaging.

The apple product intro sequence seemed to have many similarities to the other two movie title sequences. The apple intro had many visuals using bright colors and had an instance of copying the James bond animation. The animation for north by northwest had a few animations sequences that transitioned into scenes that appeared to represent real life occasions while the music wasn’t as intense as the James bond intro. The apple intro sequence also had a more modern feel of the other intro sequences but it could be due to the intro starring apple products and electronic devices instead of actors like the movies. Also, the james bond intro seemed to use only colors that had a more action feel unlike the apple sequence. The apple sequence had mostly just bright colors that matched together to make a more appealing show.

I think the Saul Bass intro was different than the other two because it used real footage during the intro while the other 2 did not. Although, one thing it did have in common was the transition from the green grid to the building. The music worked well with the intro because it was upbeat and kept me entertained with the gliding names. The Apple and James Bond intros were more similar to me. They both used a variety of bright colors and transitions throughout the whole video. One thing always led to another one which was really cool. I personally liked those intros more than the Saul Bass ones because the scene was constantly changing and morphing into new things.

Something that makes all three of these videos effective is how the sound works with the visuals to send a tone or message. All three of these are similar in which they all use music, video, color and image to give the audience a feeling. However, the Saul Bass intro was very much different compared to the Apple and James Bond intro. I definitely feel like the Apple intro was influenced by the James Bond intro due to how similar they are. They both use bright vibrant colors in a variety of shapes and display them at the same pace as the music, which coincidently they both use fast, funky music. Typically giving an exciting or happy feeling. Whereas in the Saul Bass intro, it gives off a more serious feeling or tone due to the lack of colors used and the music that was playing with the images.
