- WRITE: You will need to write a proposal of at least 200 words outlining what you plan to do for Unit 3. Post to OpenLab. This proposal should tell us:
- A 1-2 sentence statement of what you want to teach your audience (the most important thing you learned in Unit 2)
- The audience you are trying to reach
- The genre you are planning to write in and why you chose it
- A plan — how do you intend to get started? What will be your FIRST STEP?
- Anything you might be worried about. What are your concerns about finishing this project?
- Discuss the final portfolio (which is due in 4-5 weeks. It will sneak up on you!). We usually don’t have time to revise Unit 3, but we might be able to begin discussions now of revising Units One and Two.
As the units progressed my work has been mostly informal, a way to teach and keep people alerted, so maybe for this next unit i could add some variety to it such as a twitter thread. In the sense it still is similar to a narrative, or an educational genre, but it expresses it in a much simpler and easier way, for others to understand. My plan is to grab small pieces of information from my unit 2 work, and construct it with not only sources but pictures so that it can give a better insight to the audience. To get more specific, students, young teens, young audiences that are still seeing the world for how it really is, and what its capable of.
