I love this article and want to use it to reference in mine because it goes into great detail explaining the science behind the different chemicals and ingredients and how they affect the oceans and wildlife. It also explains what we as humans need to protect ourselves from the UV rays and gives a long list of name brand sunscreens to buy so it easy to understand.
Here is the link to “Sunscreen use and awareness of chemical toxicity among beach goers in Hawaii prior to a ban on the sale of sunscreens containing ingredients found to be toxic to coral reef ecosystems”: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0308597X19309029
This discusses how much lack of awareness there is in Hawaii of the sunscreen chemical impacts the coral reefs and the chemical ban Hawaii is implementing .
Good! Feel free to use the recent news as part of what you’re writing, too. In fact, those reports might make a good introduction, sort of along the lines of “You think all sunscreens are good? Well, no. At least Aveeno learned that the hard way” but way better!
