I’m going to talk about health and medicine topic because I’d like to talk about the effects of dental insurance on kids, immigrants, and older people who need insurance, as well as poor people who can’t afford visits, such as those in the south east and Middle East, who end up with serious health issues. Older folks, as well as Black, Latino, Indigenous, and immigrant communities, were already the most likely to suffer from cavities, gum disease, and oral cancer, which are the most common oral-health issues in the United States.

Prior to the coronavirus, over a third of Americans did not receive preventative dental health care. To make matters more complicated, the mouth is home to bacteria and other microbes that interact with biological systems in ways that are still being discovered. Young children, pregnant women, and older persons have the most difficulties receiving oral health care.

This is a pretty good focus — dental health care. Do you want to narrow it down even more, maybe to a specific audience? If you’re after kids and parents, then something like Parent magazine would be a good target. Or maybe a smaller community newspaper? It’s a big topic, so just give it a bit more thought.
