There are millions of young Fredericks Dlouglass in the world today. It is sad and disappointing to know that kids have either no access at all or have poor conditions of education. Compared to the many things that countries have improved within their conditions, education never improved as fast as other achievements. For example, the level of technology today is above the needs while other countries still don’t even have the basic needs of living (clothing, food, homes, etc.). Some countries are living their best lives and complaining about little things, the other half of the world is grateful for having a roof over their head. It seems as if leaders forget about the people indeed. As it said in the article “Many families cannot afford school and are oftentimes forced into child labor”.The fact that child labor and no education still happen in today’s world doesn’t seem to add up. I find it unbelievable but true to know that world leaders don’t give their best support to improving education.

Today, there are millions of children in the world who are illiterate like Fredrick Douglass was when he was a kid. I’m not surprised to know that most government funds don’t go into the true development of countries like creating good schools that provide good quality education and instead they go into creating unnecessary technology. A lot of the times developing countries are overlooked and the struggles people face aren’t recognized. A child should be able to live out their childhood and not worry about marriage or teen pregnancy because those aren’t matters of a kid. It’s disgusting that girls in developing countries are being married off to what I believe are older men. Not only are they being rid of a normal life, but they are also being sexually assaulted. This can’t be the life low-income children are meant to live. So many families are living in poverty so much that necessities like food and water have to be valued over putting your child in school and that lead to kids being exploited. The government as well as major corporations need to set their priorities straight because they the people are the main focus, yet the new iPhone is bigger news than countries in need.
