East New York Surveillance

East New York Surveillance

This Photo was taken on 101st street. I decided to take this photo because it would focus exactly on my target. The photo was taken on a cloudy day with no visible sunlight. The Camera is resting on top of a pole and harnessed by a metal prong. The camera has a New York Police Department Logo on it’s case. Behind the camera is cables spreading out from the left and right sides.

THE MORTAL WARRIOR.VS THR SERPRNT

SYMBOLISM.
This a painting.
This is my photograph of a painting.
A mortal warrior slaying a serpent in this painting.
Symbolism, the serpent represents the struggles within mankind, while the mortal warrior represents the humanity that remains. The mortal warrior with his sword slaying the serpent represents humanity will to overcome the thirst of darkness. The color and the tone of the background of this photograph of a painting reflects a mood and accent reflective of this battle between this mortal warrior and the serpent, A dark gray cloud in the background that speaks with a strong voice of the mood and attitude of the current battle at hand, there is also a god like presence in characters that projects the kind of strength that’s needed for this task at hand.
I chose this photograph of a painting for my assignment because to me it symbolizes the struggles most individuals have to overcome for the sake of prosperity.
the symbolism of a mortal warrior slaying a serpent is a goal everyone should aspire to attain within each individual selves. “SYMBOLISM”
THE MORTAL WARRIOR VS. THE SERPENT

DAWN, NATURE’S PASSION.(the color of beauty made full)

This is a photograph that I took while I was on vacation in the West Indies. The West Indies possess some of the most beautiful get away location a mortal man could ever desire, and I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to capture one of the most beautiful sites one could ever witness. This photo was taken towards the end of the day after having a long day of fun at the beach with family and friends. As this family trip to the beach start to near ending, the most beautiful transition of day into night started to take place. At dawn as the sun started to go down, the most beautiful creation of lights and colors started to take place. This is a photograph of a site that’s worth a million words, a site captured in a single moment, a site that shall be remembered a life time.

THE PROJECTION OF BEAUTY

This is a photograph of a friend of mines by the name Lisa. Upon seeking a photograph for my assignment I wasn’t sure what kind of photograph to use, luckily, I have friends. I decided to get my friend Lisa who loves to take pictures of herself to help me with this assignment; judging by the quality of this photograph of her, I now have a better understanding of Lisa’s chemistry with the camera. This photograph is more than an extension to my assignment; this photograph has now become a mantle that symbolizes the beauty of what true friendship means. This is a photograph of my friend Lisa.

Franklin avenue overpass

rsz_img_0083

I took this photo on march 21, 2014 from the my window looking down at the franklin avenue  overpass connecting the uptown and downtown C train and the shuttle train to prospect park. This image shows about three quarter of the whole overpass. This street is usually busy and crowed but as you can see there are not many cars around, there are few people walking around and riding bike.

Fulton Lights

Processed with VSCOcam with s3 preset

Denise A, March 20, 2014

This photo was captured on March 20th, 2014 in Manhattan’s
Fulton Street train station, involved fluorescent lights and train signs. There
is so much yet so little going on in this photo but the lights carry most of
the weight. They’re very busy and very symmetrical. Every triangular shape in
the ceiling, in the lights, and on the ground looks like they were carefully
planned out and worked on. The bright lights reflected onto the walls and
helped build shadows in the corners of the photo. The reality effect of this
photo is very high because this can be seen for oneself. Anyone in New York
City has seen a train station, maybe not this specific one, but knowing it’s
there is believable because of the familiar traits of exit signs and signs with
different directions to different trains, along with many staircases.

Opposing Forces

Cold Clasp Bay 50th Street 18th Feb 2014

Cold Clasp
Bay 50th Street 18th Feb 2014

I snapped this photo of this cloudy sky on the 18th of February. During a stop on 50th street, while riding the D train, I peered out to the sky only to notice the branches obscuring my view. I immediately remembered my photography assignment, and seized this photo. The stark contrast between the branches and the white-washed backdrop highlight the sharp rigid shape of the branches. They portray claw like imagery, clasping the sky, branches dominate the image, symbolizing entrapment. However I would like highlight the viewpoint of the photographer, and place you, the viewer in that position. Doesn’t it appear that you’re caged in, surrounded by the branches peering out to the sky? This photo reminds us that Mother Nature grips us, we can’t escape her control.

You can't contain me! Dublin Zoo, Ireland. April 29th 2010.

Fiery Will
Dublin Zoo, Ireland. April 29th 2010.

I snapped this photo back at home, in Ireland during a school trip to Dublin Zoo. All the animals were ecstatic when we approached them, however this lion remained resolute. She appears resolved in her predicament. Wire fencing litters the entire frame of the photo, trapping the lioness. This is man’s attempt at capturing nature, and controlling her. The dominant soothing green colours of her habitat juxtapose with her fiery orange fur. This symbolizes a contrast between the lioness’ character with the trait of the green lush vegetation.
